Gig Posters and how I came up with my xo stamp

This stamp started as part of a project I was working on for an online design class I was taking. The project was to make a gig poster. I was listening to a Goldfrapp song and came up with this idea. This is exactly what I had in mind when I designed this stamp… to use as a layered, overlapping and messy piece of work. I love the subtle change in colors and the simple “knock-out” type. This was done in illustrator… and I worked in layers and just changed the opacity. You can do this in Photoshop I’m sure. And, you can even do it with the stamp. You can make a mask of a phrase… using your Silhouette or Cameo, tape it down with removable adhesive… then just stamp over it again and again! I hope this post inspired you to use this stamp in so many different ways. It’s really quite versatile. It can be used like… or as a stand-alone stamp.Β You have to check out what the Creative Team over at Studio Calico is making with it too!
