Time-Out Tuesday

Hi! We finally had some spring-like weather here in Western New York. It is long over-due, after an incredibly cold winter. I’m taking the time to do some spring cleaning, (purge scrapbook supplies and other stuff) which is also incredibly overdue.

I keep thinking about making the time to create. I haven’t done too much of that. Just a little playing around, testing things out, like my new favorite Clearly Kelly alpha stamps. Things are just in a “work-in-progress” mode. My goal is to take a “Time-out Tuesday” and post something creative, even if it’s little or not even finished. I don’t have that today, as other things (leaky windows, thanks winter) have taken priority.

Hope this post finds you well!

ps: there’s a little restock in the shop

Project Life | Real Life

jan spreadSo I really wanted to make time to make stuff this year. And I fell in love with the 9×12 Handbooks from Studio Calico. Sometimes the 12×12 seems so big and the 6×8 a little more of a mini-book, which I love… but… that 9×12 was calling…

I believe we all have a story to tell … and sometimes I have a lot of stories and sometimes I don’t. That explains my approach to Project Life. I’m just going to do a highlight reel of sorts … as you can see in this January spread! I’m going to incorporate different sizes in this book. It’s not a lot, but it was so nice to make something again!

Thanks for stopping by!

the good life (and a shop update)

the good lifeHi! If you recently placed an order… thank you sooo much!! I am processing these today and will get them in the mail this evening. It’s fun getting these together… and I really appreciate your interest! You’ll have to show me what you make … and follow me on instagram… It is private (after getting some strange followers) but I do most of my posting there!! You let me continue doing something that brings me joy!! And that is my One Little Word for this year… so thank you for being a part of that!! xoxo

Gig Posters and how I came up with my xo stamp

This stamp started as part of a project I was working on for an online design class I was taking. The project was to make a gig poster. I was listening to a Goldfrapp song and came up with this idea. This is exactly what I had in mind when I designed this stamp… to use as a layered, overlapping and messy piece of work. I love the subtle change in colors and the simple “knock-out” type. This was done in illustrator… and I worked in layers and just changed the opacity. You can do this in Photoshop I’m sure. And, you can even do it with the stamp. You can make a mask of a phrase… using your Silhouette or Cameo, tape it down with removable adhesive… then just stamp over it again and again! I hope this post inspired you to use this stamp in so many different ways. It’s really quite versatile. It can be used like… or as a stand-alone stamp. You have to check out what the Creative Team over at Studio Calico is making with it too!

I’m giddy with excitement as one of my favorite stamps has found its way into the Studio Calico Tabasco Addon!! So grateful to April Foster for this opportunity and to Rachel for all her help!! It appears to be unavailable at the moment, but you can check back at midnight reveal for a chance to grab this add-on!! The embellishments look amazing too!! *Photo Credit: Studio CalicoPL_Addon_2_Sneak_2 (1)
